Protektor, drywall profiles, lightweight steel construction, Edificio, EdiWall – if you know what to do with them, you can create more easily and efficiently.
Non-load-bearing drywall systems are irreplaceable in interior construction.
Drywall construction creates much more with lightweight steel construction: load-bearing walls and ceilings, room-in-room systems and buildings – quickly and easily.
It is high time that future specialist contractors and planners got to know the many possibilities and numerous advantages of lightweight steel construction. “It’s best to do this during your studies and training,” we thought. Together with our colleagues from Siniat, we have therefore supported a project from the university initiative “Modern and lightweight construction”: Based on a student design, trainees in dry construction realized a pavilion in lightweight steel construction.
Organization:
University initiative “Moderner Aus- und Leichtbau”
Planning and implementation:
Interior design students, Berlin International University of Applied Science Trainees Lehrbauhof Berlin, Fachgemeinschaft Bau Berlin und Brandenburg
Material sponsorship and technical support:
Protektor and Siniat
Experts from Protektor’s lightweight steel construction team as consultants
The lightweight steel construction method is simple to understand and easy to implement, as it essentially follows the principles of dry construction with its stud frame and cladding. As lightweight steel structures are load-bearing, it is important to ensure load-bearing capacity and bracing. This is achieved by the frame construction method with rigid junctions, stiffening planking and – compared to drywall construction – larger profile cross-sections.
Great initiative, successful project!
Apprentices and students learned about the possibilities of lightweight steel construction, the training yard is now adorned with a break pavilion, and the promising lightweight steel construction method is becoming part of the teaching content.
It was fun. Thank you for letting us be part of it!
