Information on the adjustment of our sustainability communication
Dear Sir or Madam,
In light of the new European requirements for sustainability and environmental claims under the EmpCo Directive (“Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition”), we have comprehensively reviewed and adjusted our communication on sustainability.
Our commitment remains unchanged: we communicate sustainability in a transparent, understandable, and verifiable way. Relevant statements are specified and supported by appropriate evidence and documentation.
The following changes have been made:
- The Green Circle by Protektor: The previous label is no longer used. The Green Circle will continue as a neutral, Protektor-internal program of initiatives, with a focus on concrete and verifiable measures.
- Protektor Green Line: The Green Line is being discontinued and will no longer be used. A new concept for communication and labeling is currently being developed and will be presented at a later date.
- Bauchemie eco: The designation is being replaced by “Bauchemie economy.”
Our labels, as well as the relevant communication and sales materials, have been or are being updated accordingly.
Updated labels
Since our partners and retailers may still hold stock bearing the previous labels, we will provide the necessary new labels for impacted products at no additional cost.
To request them, please send the delivery note of the impacted goods to info@protektor.de with the subject line “Label Exchange – EmpCo”. We will send you the updated labels as soon as possible.
EU GARAN warranty label
The EU GARAN warranty label does not apply to our products, as we do not provide a commercial durability warranty of more than two years. The requirements for the GARAN label pursuant to Directive (EU) 2024/825 are therefore not met. Statutory and contractual warranty obligations remain unaffected.
Existing communication materials
We kindly ask you to cease using catalogues, brochures, flyers, sales materials, and other communication materials that still contain previous sustainability statements or labels and designations that are no longer in use. Please withdraw them from circulation and destroy any remaining stock.
Please ensure that only the currently approved versions are used within your organisation and at the respective sales and distribution points.
These adjustments are creating a uniform and sustainable foundation for fair, transparent, and traceable sustainability communication.
We thank you for your support and for the trust you place in our collaboration. If you have any questions regarding the impacted products, updated labels, or approved communication materials, please feel free to contact your usual contacts. They will be happy to assist you.
Sincerely,
The Management Team
