Information on the Adjustment of Our Sustainability Communications
Dear Sir or Madam,
In light of the new European requirements for sustainability and environmental claims under the EmpCo Directive (“Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition”), we have comprehensively reviewed and adjusted our sustainability communications.
Our commitment remains unchanged: We communicate sustainability in a transparent, understandable, and verifiable manner. Relevant statements are specified in detail and supported by appropriate evidence and documentation.
The following changes have been made:
- The Green Circle by Protektor: The previous label is no longer used. The Green Circle will continue as a neutral, Protektor-internal program of initiatives, with a focus on concrete and verifiable measures.
- Protektor Green Line: The Green Line is being discontinued and will no longer be used. A new concept for communication and labeling is currently being developed and will be presented at a later date.
- Bauchemie eco: The name is being replaced with “Bauchemie economy.”
Our labels, as well as the relevant communication and sales materials, have been or will be updated accordingly.
Updated Labels
Since our partners and retailers may still have inventory bearing the previous labels, we are providing the necessary new labels for affected products at no additional cost.
To request them, please send the delivery slip for the affected goods to info@protektor.de with the subject line “Label Exchange – EmpCo.” We will send you the updated labels as soon as possible.
EU GARAN Guarantee Label
The EU GARAN guarantee label does not apply to our products, as we do not provide a commercial shelf-life guarantee exceeding two years. The requirements for the GARAN label pursuant to Directive (EU) 2024/825 are therefore not met. Statutory and contractual warranty obligations remain unaffected by this.
Existing Communication Materials
We ask that you cease using catalogs, brochures, flyers, sales materials, and other communication materials that still contain previous sustainability claims or labels and designations that are no longer in use; please remove them from circulation and destroy any remaining stock.
Please use only the versions currently approved by us and ensure that this is also the case within your organization as well as at the respective sales and distribution locations.
With these adjustments, we are creating a uniform and sustainable foundation for fair, transparent, and traceable sustainability communication.
Thank you very much for your support and for the trust you have placed in us. If you have any questions regarding the affected products, updated labels, or approved communication materials, please feel free to contact your usual points of contact.
Sincerely,
The Management Team
